Crushed coral looks better and wont blow around, but traps detritus bare bottom is easy to keep clean, but doesnt look natural. please please dont recommend regular sand, it blows around in the high flow tanks thateep. thanks.

The coral is not going to give you immediate results. as mentioned, it slowly dissolves so you will have to test for several days to see if its working. another alternative is seachem alkaline buffer which is whatse. thats more immediate andose that with each weekly water change.

I found crushed coral to be too expensive here sopted to use crushed oyster shells, available at any farm supply store for laying hens. they do the same job though. if you want to keep the tank looking clean you can useesh bag filled withandful of the stuff and either hidden in the filter or just left hanging in the tank.
